Ignite your career as a Mechanic with Keolis! Looking to level up your wrench game in the Kootenays? We’re hiring a Lead-Hand Mechanic in Cranbrook, BC, where mountain air meets big machines. This isn’t just about turning wrenches—it’s about leading the charge, solving tough diagnostics, and keeping our fleet running strong and smooth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Diagnose and repair vehicles using diagnostic tools to identify issues and perform necessary repairs, maintenance, and part replacements
  • Operate buses for testing and diagnostics as needed
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including CVIP inspections
  • Maintain accurate service records and manage parts procurement
  • Collaborate with technicians, management, and drivers to meet shop priorities and schedules
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and HR procedures in line with OH&S and inspection standards
  • Keep a clean, safe workspace and communicate effectively with the team
  • Support apprentice training, suggest training needs, and attend required company programs

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Technician Certification (Commercial Transport, Heavy Duty or Automotive may be considered with Air Brake Endorsement)
  • CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License or willingness to obtain during probationary period
  • 2–5 years of related experience, including exposure to working as a Journeyperson Mechanic
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license with an air brake endorsement
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent Health & Safety Knowledge, particularly OH&S rules and regulations guidelines, with a keen eye for detail
  • Employment is contingent upon receiving a favorable background check and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening

  • Prior experience maintaining transit vehicles or a large fleet
