Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician reporting to the Equipment Maintenance Manager, working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba office. The Journeyperson Electrician participates in all phases of rebuild, construction and maintenance of plant machinery, equipment and machine tools. Determine usability of machinery and equipment and methods of repair. Work with Facilities, Engineering and supervisor to solve design, developmental and other like problems. This position may require evenings or midnight shifts.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain Plant Facility electrical, electronic and pneumatic systems to optimum operating efficiency, diagnose and correct malfunctions, modify, calibrate, test and certify such typical facilities as load centers, power panels, generators, transformers, heaters, CNC, time clock and communication systems, machining centers, autoclave, overhead crane, heat treat controls and programmable equipment controls
Install and connect electrical, electronic and pneumatic control systems of Plant Facilities, and perform necessary corrective operations and adjustments at the time of installation to ensure facilities operate as required
Determine power and load requirements, wire size, current required and demand load with respect to distance from power source
Lead and work with employees engaged in the maintenance, repair, calibration, adjustment, modification, and test of industrial electrical, electronic and pneumatic facilities including programmable logic controllers, CNC controllers and related equipment
Use schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, vendor manuals, and applicable national, provincial and municipal specifications, codes and ordinances
Repair, and rebuild electrical motors and generators
Use electrical and electronic test instruments, measuring devices, and shop tools
Perform work described in other maintenance classifications when incidental but necessary to the accomplishment of the assignment
Requirements:
Red Seal Journeyperson Electricians Ticket
5+ years of experience working as a Journeyperson Electrician
Ability to work evening shift and/or midnight shift as assigned
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data
Nice to have:
Experience with complex electrical controls and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) (preferably with CNC equipment)
Understanding of regulatory and code requirements (Canada Electrical Code, CSA, IEC, local jurisdictions)
Demonstrate ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines
Arc flash and electrical safety training (NFPA 70E equivalent)
Confined space, fall protection, forklift, aerial lift experience
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a methodical approach to root cause analysis
Ability to demonstrate strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
