Torus is hiring Journeyman Electricians for our Overwatch Service Team. In this role, you are the technical face of Torus once a system is live. You will lead the development and lifecycle of energy storage products, managing everything from routine health checks to urgent 24/7 emergency dispatches. You will report directly to the Head of Overwatch and play a foundational role in building a high-performance rapid-response field team. As a Journeyman Electrician of the Overwatch Service Team, your work falls into three critical categories: Planned maintenance, Unplanned reactive service, and Emergency Dispatch.
Job Responsibility:
Respond to system alerts dispatched by Torus Overwatch Command, conducting on-site diagnostics and resolution for BESS, FESS (flywheel), and PV installations
Execute planned service (6-month health checks) and unplanned reactive maintenance, grouping tasks for maximum field efficiency
24/7 Emergency Response - Support a rotating on-call schedule to address critical safety concerns at a moment's notice, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Interface directly with residential customers and facility managers, providing high-level service and professional communication
Manage and mentor a crew of apprentices, overseeing their 90-day shadowing period and ensuring work meets NEC and NFPA 70E standards
Document all service actions and site conditions with precision in our digital management systems
Maintain fleet vehicles, specialized tools, and stock parts in compliance with company standards.
Requirements:
Must have an active DOPL Journeyman Electrician license or higher
Must have experience at performing commercial/industrial electrical work, while providing excellent customer service
Must be able to read, interpret and execute blueprints, specs and electrical riser diagrams
Must have knowledge in NEC standards
Top-notch organizational skills as well as a close attention to details required
Experience in web and mobile software applications
May be required to use ladders at varying heights, specialized equipment (scissor lifts/man lifts, etc.), and lift heavy items (up to 60 lbs)
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.
Nice to have:
Certifications in safety standards (e.g., OSHA 30, NFPA 70E) and renewable systems (e.g., NABCEP)
Prior experience helping to scale or lead field service teams in energy or critical infrastructure sectors
Hands-on experience with PLCs, including basic programming, diagnostics, and control system integration
Exposure to remote operations tools, fleet coordination software, or field mobility platforms.
