Job Responsibility:

  • Work as part of a multi-skilled team, developing content for radio and digital

  • Create powerful audio by understanding local audiences and what matters to them
  • Write great scripts

Requirements:

  • Passion for local life and ability to look at stories from diverse perspectives
  • Substantial experience of audio production and journalism with strong editorial judgement
  • Great people skills needed to collaborate with colleagues across local platforms
  • Good knowledge of the BBC’s editorial guidelines
  • Thorough grasp of impartiality as it applies to output
  • Good knowledge of broadcast law

Nice to have:

  • Experience developing productive working relationships with presenters
  • Substantial time spent creating speech-based features for a daily radio show
