Job Description

We’re looking for a talented and driven Journalist to work across three of LADbible Group’s flagship brands. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong news sense, excellent storytelling skills and a passion for creating engaging, shareable content for a social-first audience. You’ll be responsible for sourcing, pitching and writing stories across a wide range of topics, from breaking news and entertainment to politics, money, health and science. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced newsroom environment, understands what makes content culturally relevant, and can react quickly to emerging stories while maintaining the highest editorial standards. Alongside trending and reactive content, you’ll also create evergreen articles aligned with our brand pillars and optimise stories for SEO and social performance.

Job Responsibility

  • Identifying, sourcing and writing stories across a variety of topics and formats
  • Producing high-quality, accurate content at pace for a digital-first audience
  • Reacting quickly to breaking news and viral trends with strong editorial judgement
  • Sourcing stories through social media, original reporting and relevant news channels
  • Optimising content for SEO and social platforms in line with best practice guidance
  • Monitoring content performance using tools such as Chartbeat and responding to insights
  • Collaborating with editorial and cross-functional teams to develop impactful cross-platform storytelling
  • Working as part of a rota across relevant brands, including evenings and weekend shifts

Requirements

  • 2–3 years’ experience working in journalism and/or digital news media
  • A strong news sense and the ability to identify viral, culturally relevant stories
  • Excellent sourcing skills and confidence reacting quickly to breaking stories
  • A solid understanding of media law and editorial standards
  • Demonstrable SEO knowledge and experience optimising content for site and social
  • Experience writing across a broad range of topics including news, politics, entertainment, money, health and science
  • Confidence using analytics and performance data to inform editorial decisions
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to changing newsroom priorities
