The Job Cost Analyst will play a critical role in tracking, analyzing, and reporting project costs to ensure accurate financial performance across multiple construction projects. This individual will work closely with project managers, accounting, and operations to monitor budgets, identify variances, and drive cost control initiatives.
Job Responsibility
Monitor and maintain job cost reports for multiple active construction projects
Analyze project budgets vs. actual costs and provide variance analysis
Partner with Project Managers to review project financial performance and forecast costs to completion
Track committed costs, subcontractor agreements, and change orders
Prepare monthly WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules
Assist with revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion accounting
Identify cost overruns, risks, and opportunities for improved profitability
Support project billings, AR/collections, and reconciliation of job accounts
Maintain integrity of job cost data within ERP/accounting systems
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of job cost accounting or project accounting experience (construction industry strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including WIP schedules and cost tracking
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage 300 CRE, Procore, or similar)
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
