Job Description

Develop the concepts and launch the industrialisation of Jigs and Tools assets (creation, development and modification) until final acceptance and handover to Operations. Develop and Integrate industrial technologies in collaboration with industrial architects and link R&D with functional requirements. Collaborate integrate requirements and consolidate the Airbus Industrial Vision

Job Responsibility

  • Develop the concepts and launch the industrialisation of Jigs and Tools assets (creation, development and modification) until final acceptance and handover to Operations
  • Develop and Integrate industrial technologies in collaboration with industrial architects and link R&D with functional requirements
  • Collaborate integrate requirements and consolidate the Airbus Industrial Vision
  • In conjunction with ME function and Manufacturing System Leader, support the development and implementation of the work breakdown structure and organisation breakdown structure for the manufacturing engineering activity and teams at Broughton
  • Delivers signed off tooling SOW / tech specs covering all launch activities as described by the work breakdown structure
  • Ensures that the facility and manufacturing system design meets ME process requirements
  • Ensures that all ME & supplier processes meet EHS / Quality regulatory requirements
  • Ensures that the manufacturing system meets process capability requirements to build the product to design requirements
  • Deploys lean manufacturing principles to develop effective manufacturing processes and establish a platform for continuous improvement
  • Develops and implements effective ME processes to ensure manufacturing schedule and system requirements are met at all times
  • Established robust interfaces, measures and processes with the programme teams to ensure that design data is delivered to manufacturing requirements (quality and time)
  • Ensures design support to manufacture is in place to support manufacturing operations to achieve their deliverable targets
  • Established robust and topical measurement and reporting system, in line with PMO structure, to provide management information as required by launch and function (relating to ME deliverables)
  • Delivers overall tooling & equipment solution with Integration supplier
  • Supports R & T submission processes to secure development funding
  • Design for “X”, integration with all stakeholders to develop a tech spec capturing all requirements. I.e. Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, etc etc

Engineering Process Engineer, Operations, Maintenance Engineer and Plant/ FAL Quality Assurance Representative for Jigs and Tools, as well as Human Factors, e.g. Health and Safety and Ergonomics, Environmental, Security, including Cyber Security, and legal aspects, such as Export Control or Marking
  • Ensure integration of these requirements in J&T technical specification
  • Ensure the provided solution is fully integrated within the industrial system through a robust acceptance process set on defined Key Performance Indicators
  • Contribute to the purchasing phases of the Jigs and Tools asset, including technical specification for call for tender
  • Support Finance activities to elaborate the CapEx and/or OpEx dossier
  • Support Plants/ FALs in all the activities where a Jig and/or Tool asset is involved
