Java Lead

• Accountable for executing and driving results on large-scale or multiple smaller efforts
• serve as development lead for medium/large projects
• support end-user consultation to identify system function specifications
• provide guidance on architecturally significant efforts and ensure principles are followed
• publish design review extensions and documented guidance
• participate in microservices and NGA code reviews
• mentor and coach SDEs and teams
• provide long-term perspectives for technology choices
• direct teams on developing efficient systems
• resolve technical blockers and risks
• demonstrate continuous improvement and introduce new technology
• conduct design reviews for Agile and Plan of Record (POR) projects as well as NGA code reviews.

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in an Apps Development role or senior enterprise architecture role
• expertise in building horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient, and low latency applications
• experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular/React, and Oracle/PostgreSQL
• knowledge of RESTful APIs, Kafka messaging, Elastic Search, NoSQL databases, and caching solutions
• exposure to Cloud infrastructure (OpenShift, AWS, Snowflake)
• familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
• experience mentoring junior developers
• expertise in Test Driven Development and site reliability engineering
• strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• strong understanding of engineering best practices and SDLC
• Bachelor’s/University degree required, Master’s degree preferred.

• Knowledge of automating code quality, code performance, unit testing, and build processing in CI/CD
• exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools (i.e., IntelliJ)
• exposure to AWS cloud migration
• expertise performing code/design reviews
• familiarity with NGA architecture and solutions.
