Position Purpose: Our client is a leading technology provider for private banking and wealth management, serving financial institutions across Europe and Asia. They are expanding their Singapore development centre and seeking Integration/Middleware Developers to join their financial messaging and integration team. You will work on critical integration layers connecting core banking systems with external payment networks, market data providers, and client-facing applications.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design and develop integration solutions connecting banking systems with external networks
  • Build and maintain message-driven applications using IBM MQ (WebSphere MQ) and WSO2
  • Implement financial messaging standards including SWIFT (FIN/FileAct/InterAct) and ISO 20022
  • Develop APIs and data transformation services for system interoperability
  • Work with payment networks (SIC/EUROSIC, SIX) and market data feeds
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize message processing performance
  • Collaborate with business analysts to understand requirements and translate to technical solutions
  • Document integration patterns and maintain technical specifications

Requirements:

  • Strong Java development skills with Spring Framework
  • Experience with message queuing systems (IBM MQ, Kafka, or similar)
  • Understanding of XML/JSON processing and data transformation
  • Experience with RESTful and SOAP web services
  • Familiarity with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2)
  • Knowledge of integration patterns (EAI, ESB concepts)

Nice to have:

  • Experience with SWIFT messaging (MT/MX formats)
  • Knowledge of ISO 20022 financial messaging standards
  • Familiarity with WSO2 or similar integration platforms
  • Experience with GTExchange, SAG, or other banking middleware
  • Understanding of payment processing workflows
  • Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
