Job Description

The Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities. The Fullstack Java Tech Lead is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis, design and programming activities. This is a senior technical position responsible for accomplishing results through driving engineering excellence by leading variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and deployment of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. A full-stack engineer is a high-level software engineer who works to design, test, and implement various software applications. In this role, they will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing end-to-end software solutions aligned with Citi's strategic goals. They will work closely with business stakeholders, product managers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software that meets our clients' evolving needs.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage one or more Applications Development teams in an effort to accomplish established goals as well as conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications
  • Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects
  • Contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals
  • Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual data in complicated and unique situations
  • Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards negotiating with external parties when necessary
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
  • Design, develop, and implement full-stack software solutions using modern technologies and architectures
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to Citi's coding standards and best practices
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders, fostering a culture of open communication and knowledge sharing
  • Embrace a culture of continuous learning and improvement, staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Contribute to Citi's Engineering Excellence initiatives by promoting modern ways of working and driving innovation
  • Ensure adherence to Citi's security policies and procedures, contributing to a secure and stable technology environment

Requirements

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development role with hands on coding
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in designing complex and distrusted systems
  • In depth knowledge of Java, Spring, Kafka, Distributed Cache/Systems (e.g. Apache Ignite), Microservices, Cloud Native Development
  • Hands on experience on relational databases like Oracle
  • API first design thinking and implementation using Rest, websocket and gRPC
  • Experience with building applications on cloud platform such as Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift
  • Proven implementation of design pattern and enterprise level architecture
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong organizational and project management skills

Nice to have

  • RISK AND QUANT DOMAIN WILL BE ADDED ADVANTAGE
  • UI tech stack knowledge will be advantage
  • Business knowledge of Risk and Margin and regulatory stress testing is preferred
  • Understanding of Risks (Greeks), risk calculation models like VaRr/SIMM preferred and ability to work with Quant team is preferred
