Join us as a Java Full Stack Software Engineer at Barclays where you will spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability

Requirements:

  • Develop and enhance backend services using Core Java, Exception Handling, Spring Boot, and Microservices and should have clear conceptual understanding
  • Build responsive, scalable UI components using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end features
  • Perform production log analysis, issue investigation, and root cause analysis for defects. Knowledge of ESaaS, AppDynamics, OpenShift
  • Participate in code reviews, adhere to coding standards, and ensure high‑quality delivery
  • Understanding of OpenShift, Jenkins, GitLab, and CI/CD deployment workflows
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to handle production issues effectively
  • Working experience in sprint environment

Nice to have:

  • Understand the various phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with GitLab Duo, GitHub Copilot, component testing, and mutation testing
  • Understanding of TDD
