Job Description:

The position is for an experienced middleware engineer (Java/J2EE) with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to be part of Citi’s Wholesale Lending Technology team, focused on automating and modernizing operations while implementing cross-product shared services opportunities. Responsibilities include technical analysis, mentoring, design reviews, adhering to Citi’s engineering standards, and contributing to application development processes.

Job Responsibility:

Analyze and collaborate technical solutions and strategies with the team and provide the optimum solution for clients
take responsibility for successful delivery of solutions
mentoring other developers and organizing review activities
explore existing application systems, determining areas of complexity and potential risks
continually communicate with the client and project teams
contribute to continual improvement by suggesting improvements to architecture, development process, and new technologies
consistently perform code and design reviews
ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
operate with a limited level of direct supervision

Requirements:

5+ years of hands-on knowledge and understanding in JAVA/J2EE spring boot, spring framework stack
deep understanding of Microservice and Microservices best practices, patterns
must have experience in SCMs like GIT and tools like JIRA
good understanding of Kafka is highly desirable
Agile/Scrum methodology experience is required
strong systems analysis, design and architecture fundamentals, unit testing, and other SDLC activities
ability to contribute to high-level and low-level system design
strong communication skills
experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
experience in managing and implementing successful projects
working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Nice to have:

good understanding of Kafka
Agile/Scrum methodology experience
experience in SCMs like GIT and tools like JIRA
