Job Description:

The IT company Andersen invites a Java Developer in Abu Dhabi to join its team for working with a company from UAE. The customer is a government entity that manages public affairs and oversees various corporate and philanthropic projects. The company is embarking on a transformative digital journey to enhance its operational efficiency and customer experiences. The project focuses on digital transformation in the UAE to develop and support digital solutions, enhance social services, strengthen public engagement, advance international relations, and optimize administrative processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Developing and maintaining REST/gRPC APIs using Spring Boot (transition to FastAPI planned on the next steps)
  • Securing APIs via Keycloak/AD/ADFS (OIDC/SAML)
  • implement RBAC, rate limiting, and policies using Kong/WSO2
  • Designing and optimizing schemas and queries in Oracle/PostgreSQL
  • Working on backend for mobile applications
  • Configuring and operating CDN (CloudFront, Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai) for storing and delivering large media files
  • Integrating notification systems: SMTP (DKIM/SPF/DMARC), SMPP, push notifications (APNs/FCM or self-hosted)
  • Implementing ETL/ELT/Batch processes, including CDC
  • Using Elasticsearch/Elastic APM for search, tracing, and log analytics
  • Maintaining documentation: OpenAPI specs, DB schemas, CDN and notification configs
  • Collaborating in an Agile environment within a cross-functional team

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Java Developer for 4+ years
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
  • Experience building microservices with Spring Boot/ Spring Security and/or FastAPI for 4+ years
  • Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, with willingness to transition to FastAPI
  • Experience with Elasticsearch (critical), and any relational database (e.g., PostgreSQL)
  • Understanding of CDN configuration and operation
  • Experience with API Gateways and Identity Providers (preferably Kong + Keycloak)
  • Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI
  • Experience with messaging and event-driven architecture using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ
  • Experience working with version control and CI/CD tools such as Git and Azure DevOps Repos/Pipelines
  • Experience implementing ETL/ELT and batch integrations using tools such as Apache Airflow, Airbyte, or Apache Spark, including patterns like incremental loads/CDC, scheduling, retries, and idempotency
  • Experience working on mobile app backends
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of Oracle SOA Suite 12.2.1.4 (BPEL, OSB, Mediators, Adapters) – ability to read and analyze existing APIs
  • Integration experience with Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2
  • WebLogic Server administration for SOA deployments
  • Experience with Rocket.Chat and ChatOps workflows
  • Experience with self-hosted Appwrite
  • Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
  • Familiarity with TypeScript and/or Go
