Helpware is seeking a Java Developer to join a large-scale enterprise modernization initiative focused on transforming legacy COBOL/CICS applications into a modern Java-based architecture. This is an excellent opportunity for developers with 1–2 years of commercial experience to contribute to a long-term enterprise project in healthcare industry while working with established frameworks, clear technical specifications, and experienced engineering teams.
Job Responsibility
Develop Java-based solutions according to detailed technical specifications provided by subject matter experts
Implement Java Enterprise components, including handlers, Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs), and Data Access Objects (DAOs)
Develop business logic and database interaction layers
Create and optimize SQL queries and database integrations
Write, execute, and maintain unit tests
Deliver clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established coding standards
Participate in code reviews and support integration activities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
Requirements
1–2 years of commercial Java development experience
Strong knowledge of core Java programming concepts
Experience with Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE)
Familiarity with Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs) and Data Access Objects (DAOs)
Experience writing unit tests
Good understanding of SQL and relational databases
Ability to work within established frameworks and follow detailed technical specifications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
English level - B2 or better
