Job Description:

The Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Job Responsibility:

Lead and manage one or more Applications Development teams to achieve strategic goals
Provide expert technical oversight across various systems and applications
Critically review and analyze proposed technical solutions for new and ongoing projects
Contribute significantly to the formulation of strategic initiatives for applications development
Develop a comprehensive understanding of how diverse business areas integrate to collectively achieve overarching business goals
Exercise sound evaluative judgment based on thorough analysis of factual data
Drive impactful outcomes within the Applications Development area
Ensure adherence to essential procedures and contribute to the definition of best practice standards
Demonstrate strong risk assessment capabilities in business decision-making

Requirements:

12 to 15 years of robust experience in Data Engineering
Demonstrated expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Hibernate
Mandatory application development experience using Scala, Python, or Java
Good knowledge of programmatically authoring, scheduling, and monitoring workflows using tools like Airflow, Camel scripts, or YAML script-based solutions
Solid understanding of ECS (Elastic Container Service), Kubernetes, and OpenShift
Well-versed in designing and architecting solutions
Proven experience working in an Agile environment
Hands-on working experience with Retail Banking products, specifically in Retail Risk and its Data Engineering
Expertise in Elastic Search, NoSQL databases, and Caching solutions
Expertise in designing and optimizing software solutions for performance and stability
Proven expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving complex technical issues
Expertise in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and its automation
Expertise in Authentication, Authorization, and Security principles
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master's degree preferred

Nice to have:

Knowledge and understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) concepts and their potential applications
Passion for technology and a self-starter mentality
