Job Description:

The Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Job Responsibility:

Lead and manage one or more Applications Development teams to achieve strategic goals
provide expert technical oversight across various systems and applications
critically review and analyze proposed technical solutions for new and ongoing projects
contribute significantly to the formulation of strategic initiatives
develop a comprehensive understanding of how diverse business areas integrate
exercise evaluative judgment in problem-solving scenarios
monitor the delivery of end results
actively participate in budget management
handle day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and work allocation
ensure adherence to essential procedures and define best practice standards
negotiate with external stakeholders when necessary
demonstrate strong risk assessment capabilities in business decision-making
effectively supervise the activities of others and foster accountability.

Requirements:

12 to 15 years of robust experience in Data Engineering
development across various frameworks and platforms including Big Data/Cloudera, HDFS, Hive, and Kafka
expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Hibernate
mandatory application development experience using Scala, Python, or Java
good knowledge of programmatically authoring, scheduling, and monitoring workflows using tools like Airflow, Camel scripts, or YAML script-based solutions for ELT/ETL orchestrations setup and executions
solid understanding of ECS (Elastic Container Service), Kubernetes, and OpenShift
well-versed in designing and architecting solutions that incorporate the latest technological advancements
proven experience working in an Agile environment, adhering to best practices of Agile Scrum
hands-on working experience with Retail Banking products, specifically in Retail Risk and its Data Engineering
expertise in Elastic Search, NoSQL databases, and Caching solutions
expertise in designing and optimizing software solutions for performance and stability
proven expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving complex technical issues
expertise in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and its automation
expertise in Authentication, Authorization, and Security principles
knowledge and understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) concepts and their potential applications.
