Job Description:

This role involves leading the solution design, modernization, and technical design for high-performing applications in custody services while collaborating with global technology stakeholders.

Job Responsibility:

Be able to lead the solution design for house developed low latency high performing application for custody service
Role will have a good exposure to the Custody business domain and close interaction with business counterparts
Candidate will have opportunity to work on modernization of application in line with future state architecture
Role will have excellent collaboration opportunity with global technology stakeholders
Work as an individual contributor with no people manager responsibility at current stage
Participate in Technical Design, Implementation, Automation and Maintenance of high performing application for custody service
Be liaising with product team, BAs and developers for clarity on stories, acceptance criteria and testing scope
Work with different global stakeholders ensuring delivery is at focus
Take ownership within asset class to meet the targets.

Requirements:

Strong Java 10+ experience (Functional Interfaces and Streams), especially using Spring Boot framework to build secure / resilient / professional Microservices
Experience in application development with Spring boot (Cloud based deployments are preferred)
Exposure to RDBMS (Oracle / SQL Server / DB2 / Postgres)
Configuration driven solution modelling mindset
Banking Domain Exposure
Experience on DevOps environment & Agile methodologies is required. Strong working experience with DevOps tools like GIT, Jenkins, Ansible, GITHUB, JIRA, Confluence etc. is a must
Experience in designing, enhancements and development, integration testing, quality assurance, application maintenance, production support
Good understanding of business Functionality, designing of Technical Documentation, Document of understanding and Delivery document
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
An adaptable team player, able to work under pressure in a dynamic working environment
Good troubleshooting skills with keen interest in continuous service improvement
Self-motivated with a proactive and outgoing personality.

Nice to have:

Exposure to cloud technologies (Docker / GCP / Open Shift)
Hands on experience with Kubernetes (Configmap / Secrets / Hashicorp – Vault / Helm Charts)
Experience in Kafka (including Kafka Avro, concept of partitioning)
Experience in NoSQL (MongoDB, Postgres – Document model)
Sound knowledge and understanding of financial service applications
Experience of implementing and replacing legacy systems in global markets
Knowledge and understanding of application architecture
Ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders and explaining technical issues
Proven planning, prioritization, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
Maintaining HSBC’s core values in work
Knowledge of programming languages, various business applications, state of the art technology, and current trends in the industry is required to consult with business unit partners to determine effective technology utilization
Knowledge of various application designs and programming techniques, usually acquired through related experience, is required to develop conceptual system design
Leadership and organizational skills are required to develop periodic goals and to manage and motivate team members towards the goals set
Effective English writing and communication skills.
