Job Description:

The Java Algo Developer, Rates position involves building and enhancing platforms that autonomously price RFQs and trades for Citi’s Rates business. The role requires designing and developing high-performance, low-latency trading applications, collaborating with teams for requirement capture, handling app upgrades, and contributing to engineering excellence.

Job Responsibility:

design and develop high performance, low-latency trading applications
partner with multiple technology, business/risk, and external market teams to capture requirements and deliver solutions for new trading functionality and market upgrades
coordinate testing of new functionality including business/etrading risk signoff
liaise with global support teams to manage application upgrades and provide third-line support for existing trading platform
develop common, reusable components and services to drive future improvements
partner with business/quant teams to evolve architecture roadmap and drive future platform direction
participate in agile/scrum development lifecycle and promote engineering excellence

Requirements:

5-8 years of relevant experience
experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
experience in managing and implementing successful projects
working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
bachelor’s degree in a relevant major such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Engineering
extensive hands-on development experience in Java
experience in design and development of high performance, low-latency, multi-threaded applications
understanding of relational database concepts and knowledge in SQL
experience with Jira, Git/Bitbucket, Gradle, and CI/CD tools
experience with Linux/Unix
knowledge on cloud technologies desirable

Nice to have:

knowledge of fixed income products, customer and broker market platforms, and trading protocols
knowledge on cloud technologies such as Artifactory, Docker, and OpenShift
