Job Description

We are seeking a Japanese bilingual QA Engineer with strong experience in software quality assurance and a solid understanding of both manual and automation testing. The ideal candidate will bridge communication between Japanese clients and the development team, ensuring that requirements, test results, and quality feedback are clearly conveyed.

Job Responsibility

  • Understand project requirements and communicate effectively with Japanese stakeholders and English-speaking development teams
  • Prepare test plans, test cases, and test reports based on requirement documents
  • Perform manual testing for web and mobile applications (functional, UI/UX, regression, integration)
  • Conduct API and backend testing (Postman, Swagger, etc.)
  • Report, track, and verify bugs using JIRA, Backlog, or Redmine
  • Collaborate with developers to reproduce, analyze, and resolve issues
  • Review Japanese documents (要件定義書, 詳細設計書, テスト仕様書) and ensure consistency with development deliverables
  • Provide QA progress reports in both Japanese and English
  • Support client meetings and validation sessions

Requirements

  • Japanese: JLPT N4/N3 or above (business communication, reading technical documents)
  • English: Business level
  • Strong knowledge of manual testing processes and test documentation
  • Experience in bug life cycle management and test case design
  • Exposure to automation tools (Selenium, Appium, etc.) – preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • APIs, JSON, SQL, and mobile/web architecture
  • Tools: Postman, JIRA

Nice to have

  • Prior experience with Japanese clients or onsite projects
  • Understanding of SDLC and STLC
  • Knowledge of Japanese business culture and etiquette
