Job Description:

Embark on an exciting journey with Barclays as part of our Japan Operations, team, as an Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting various business areas across the bank. You’ll manage day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, and resolving trade-related issues. This role is to lead daily processing of confirmations/settlements/projects with the highest standard, whilst meeting agreed SLAs, and being mindful of risk, efficiency, budget and personal conduct as a team. This role will support one of the following: Japan Settlement, Clearing and Custody settlement processing and monitoring, and Asset Servicing.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations in operational processes
  • Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency
  • Development of reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience with products such as Equities, JGB, JCB, Japanese Funds, Foreign Bonds, and Foreign Exchange (Cash, NDF, Derivative and Money Market)
  • Having analytical skills with logical thinking, problem solving ability, and attention to detail
  • Able to prioritise and manage multiple items at once and ensure consistent delivery under pressure
  • Able to escalate issues/problems to management with timely manner
  • Fluency in Japanese and English with excellent communication skills
