Janitor

• Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities
• Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash
• Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems
• Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc
• Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities
• Cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned
• Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
• Utilizes ladders, dusts and washes furniture, walls, blinds and select equipment
• cleans ceilings and dusts light fixtures and ceiling vents
• Removes stains from surfaces such as carpet, drapes/shades, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions
• Prepares cleaning solutions per specifications
• Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors
• Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment
• Gathers trash and empties in appropriate trash and recycling bins
• Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures
• Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms
• Cleans interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
• Keeps janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order
• Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and possibly checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
• Drives vehicles (if required) to perform or travel to other facilities to clean, including vans, industrial trucks, golf carts, or industrial vacuum cleaners
• Provides special cleaning and support during client events, as needed
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned

• 1 year of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials/authorization
• US citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location
• May require a valid driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles
• Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach and wrist movement
• Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift
• Regularly lift up to 30 lbs
• Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions
• Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to color coded cleaning microfiber clothes and mops
• Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed
• Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment
