Job Description

Join the Legal team to protect Barclays, its employees, and its brands while ensuring global competitiveness and compliance with legal standards. Your responsibilities will include risk mitigation, managing strategic transactions, and overseeing business contracts. As an Italian IB Lawyer at Barclays, you will offer legal advice and support to the bank's country coverage teams on a wide range of legal issues, including regulatory compliance, risk management, project management and transactional matters.

Job Responsibility

  • Development and implementation of best practice legal strategies for risk management and compliance
  • Legal advice and support to the bank's country coverage teams on a wide range of legal issues
  • Representation of the bank in legal proceedings related to its operations
  • Creation and review of legal documents such as loan agreements, security documents, and other financing documents
  • Legal research and analysis to stay up to date on changes in laws and regulations
  • Developing and delivering training programmes to educate employees on legal and regulatory requirements
  • Pro-active identification, communication, and provision of legal advice on applicable laws, rules and regulations (LRRs)

Requirements

  • Italian or UK Law qualified
  • Fluent in Italian and English
  • Top-tier capital markets private practice or in-house capital markets background
  • Familiarity with and demonstrated responsibility on a range of DCM offerings, structures and product types
  • Extensive knowledge of banking regulations, including CRDVI, international debt capital markets (DCM), and Italian covered bonds documentation and practices
  • Transaction management skills
