Job Description:

Love tech, solving problems and stunning sea views? Join us and power the systems behind Cornwall’s most unforgettable hotel experiences. We’re looking for a proactive IT Technician to help maintain the integrity of our IT network and software systems across our hotels. You’ll support a wide range of departments, acting as the first point of contact for colleagues experiencing technical issues or seeking IT guidance. This hands-on role sits at the heart of our hotels and directly contributes to the quality of our guest experience. Whether you’re early in your IT career and keen to learn, or you bring years of experience, we encourage you to apply. We’re looking for someone with a strong grasp of systems and data, a problem-solving mindset, and the willingness to get stuck in.

Job Responsibility:

  • Install, configure, and maintain user workstations, servers, Wi-Fi systems, network cabling, communication systems, TVs, and other related devices
  • Troubleshoot, prioritise, and resolve technical issues—hardware, connectivity, printers, and software—via our ticketing system
  • Carry out regular software updates, patches, and operating system upgrades
  • Manage user accounts, including creating, updating, and disabling access when required
  • Provide clear IT support and advice for both hardware and software queries
  • Assist in training team members on existing or new IT systems
  • Help maintain and grow our technical knowledgebase, including user self-help guides
  • Liaise with third-party IT suppliers, logging faults and assisting in swift resolutions
  • Ensure the security and integrity of business data and networks, following best practice for privacy, security, and compliance
  • Support occasional out-of-hours IT maintenance on live systems

Requirements:

  • Experience as an IT Technician or similar role, or relevant academic training
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, Windows/macOS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and NAT
  • Good working knowledge of internet security and data protection principles
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are an advantage
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and eager to learn or share knowledge of new technologies
  • A supportive team player with excellent communication skills and a guest-focused mindset
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
What we offer:
  • A people-centred working environment
  • Learning opportunities and internal career progression
  • Permanent contract with 28 days holiday (rising to 29 after one year)
  • Long-service reward: enjoy a complimentary stay at Bedruthan after your first year
  • 40% off food and drinks plus discounts across various hotel services
  • Local partnership discounts
  • Health Shield Healthcare Plan
  • Temporary accommodation available
