Job Description

Piper Companies is seeking a IT Systems Specialist Lead to support a leader in the American tobacco manufacturing industry for a 6 month contract term with possible extension for a hybrid twice a week onsite based in Greensboro, NC. The IT Systems Specialist Lead will be responsible for providing technical and service leadership, to design, govern, deploy, and support plant floor and warehouse technology solutions that leads to safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Serving as technical lead for manufacturing and operational technology solutions, establishing design standards and ensuring architectural alignment across OT, IT, and cloud environments
  • Own and guide complex integrations such as SCADA/PLC to applications, MES/MOM to SAP, and make primary technical decisions across connected systems
  • Defining configuration baselines, integration patterns, and technical guidelines
  • Over see IT service deliver for plant systems using ITIL aligned practices, ensuring service levels for performance, reliability, and system availability
  • Translate operational requirements into technical specifications, solution designs, and acceptance criteria

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in Windows/.NET, preferably handhelds deployment experience as well
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields
