IT Systems Engineer I is an entry–level position that operates using established procedures and works under immediate supervision. IT Systems Engineer I assists other engineers in maintaining the corporate local area network (LAN) environment and providing end user technical support for desktops, applications, servers and general LAN problems. Additional emphasis is placed on technical training, understanding customer service in a corporate environment and general BST Global processes.
Job Responsibility:
Provide first-level support for end user issues related to the enterprise desktop and network environment
Use established procedures to install, test, and configure desktop and server operating system environments and data and voice network infrastructure
maintain and track software and hardware asset information for the organization
maintain peripherals, e.g., printers and video display equipment connected to the network
Develop end user FAQ-style documentation for general IT support and questions
Assist in assigning, managing, and deleting user accounts, groups and systems in a Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment
Perform additional related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Associate of Science degree in computer science or another technology-related field
1–3 years of industry or academic experience supporting Microsoft Windows-based infrastructure, including PCs, servers, and network-related peripherals
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, including Windows 11
Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience troubleshooting and repairing Intel-based desktop and server hardware (PC support)
Understanding of network utilities and services, such as DNS, DHCP, TCPIP, TELNET, RDP and WINS
Understanding of remote access technologies, such as VPN, SSL, and Remote Desktop and its authentication techniques
Customer service oriented, good communication skills, considerate, cooperative and the ability to interact with a wide variety of personalities at all corporate levels
Nice to have:

Microsoft Windows Server or Windows Desktop Product certifications (MCP) preferred
