We are looking for an IT Support Technician to join a non-profit organization in North Charleston, South Carolina on a Contract assignment. This role will help prepare campus technology environments for the upcoming school term by supporting device readiness, classroom technology setup, and day-to-day technical needs across a large academic setting. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on support work, can manage tasks independently, and is comfortable working with a flexible schedule that typically concludes by late afternoon.
Job Responsibility:
Provide onsite technical support for campus devices and classroom technology, ensuring equipment is ready for staff and student use
Organize, track, and maintain inventory for laptops, tablets, carts, cabinets, displays, and related hardware across assigned areas
Perform basic device repairs and troubleshooting for equipment such as iPads, Chromebooks, projectors, smart boards, and other instructional tools
Prepare and configure machines for deployment, including imaging devices to required district specifications and applying necessary setup standards
Complete operating system and software updates, including Windows 11 upgrade activities, to keep systems current and functional
Assist with classroom-by-classroom technology preparation to support summer reset activities and campus readiness goals
Work with campus IT leadership and administrative staff to resolve support issues tied to front office operations and student data access needs
Support network-connected environments that include technologies such as Cisco and Meraki, escalating more complex issues when needed
Requirements:
Hands-on experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, or device deployment environments
Working knowledge of Cisco technologies and familiarity with Meraki-managed environments
Experience supporting Apple devices, Mac computers, and other end-user hardware in a detail-focused setting
Practical understanding of Microsoft systems, including Windows configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting
Familiarity with Active Directory and common user account or access support tasks
Ability to manage hardware inventory, device setup, and configuration management activities with accuracy
Experience with deployments, imaging, and preparing devices for large-scale end-user use
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently within a short-term 4-6 week assignment
