We are recruiting an IT Support Officer to join our Head Office IT Team on a Full-Time basis to mainly cover our IT Helpdesk Support function. Working as part of our IT Department the post holder will have the responsibility of providing end to end IT Helpdesk support, analysing calls for assistance, providing support and query resolution while using various in-house systems to provide a meaningful response. The role will be wide and varied in order to support the IT department meeting deadlines and requests for assistance or other information.
Job Responsibility:
Provide telephone, email and onsite support to customer base spread throughout our sites in the Edinburgh area
Provide day to day advice and resolution of problems
Investigate, resolve and manage issues and coordinate effective remedy
Assist with network support, data cabling and issue resolution
Assist with the support of Microsoft Windows and Office suite of systems
Assist with the support of specific bespoke business applications
Assist in investigation, research and implementation of fixes and solutions remotely or onsite
Assist in monitoring and the management of IT systems
Assist other colleagues with IT projects and software/hardware upgrades as required
Post induction phase participate in the IT departments on-call rota
Work as part of a small team to provide a high level of customer service, efficient timely response and practical resolutions
Requirements:
Previous experience working with full suite of Microsoft office products
Good experience of MS Windows 11 (also, Android, iOS)
Good experience of PC hardware, printers and peripherals
Effective problem solver with excellent organisational skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Excellent admin skills to monitor, document and improve adherence to IT compliance and best practice
Full UK driving licence
Previous experience working in an IT Helpdesk, Support or Systems Admin role
Previous experience of a support/ticketing system
Experience of AI (Copilot)
Experience of Linux
Experience working with Windows Server
Exposure to Networking, including Switching (VLANs)
Exposure to Virtual Infrastructure ideally VMware
Education or relevant industry certification in IT-related subjects
Nice to have:
Microsoft certifications would be beneficial but not essential
