Job Description

The IT Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver complex IT projects that span across one or more business units. This individual will manage project cross functional resources, schedules, budgets, and communications to all project stakeholders and will manage the relationship with the project team and stakeholders. This also includes the management and contribution to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.

Job Responsibility

  • Work with various project stakeholders to define project scope, requirements and deliverable objectives
  • Manage the relationship with project team and stakeholders
  • Coordinate cross functional teams – including software developers, business owners, security experts, and external resources – and orchestrate their resources together to meeting project goals
  • Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Maintain timelines and target dates of projects to ensure successful completion of assigned project phases within the budgeted time and cost constraints
  • makes certain that deadlines are met and milestones are properly set and communicated
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Create, manage and communicate effective project plans, and deliver clear objectives and updates to all project stakeholders
  • Maintain and establish practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Continue professional development in order to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of progressive project management experience
  • Working Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile Life Cycles methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes
  • Demonstrated success in influencing people and teams who are not all direct reports
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Confident and self-motivated individual with a dedicated approach
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task in a high-paced environment
  • Ability to learn new technology applications and process techniques quickly

Nice to have

Experience in building and managing a project schedule in Smart Sheets, Jira, Azure DevOps or similar project management tool
