Job Description

We are looking for an IT Security Analyst to support cybersecurity compliance initiatives in Jacksonville, Florida. This Long-term Contract position focuses on strengthening the protection of controlled information, improving security controls, and helping the organization align with cybersecurity standards. The role will partner with technical and business teams to assess current practices, address compliance gaps, and maintain accurate security documentation.

Job Responsibility

  • Evaluate current security practices against cybersecurity compliance standards and identify areas requiring remediation
  • Create and maintain policies, procedures, and supporting records that align with NIST SP 800-171 and related compliance obligations
  • Partner with IT, security, and compliance stakeholders to implement corrective actions and improve the effectiveness of security controls
  • Review cybersecurity safeguards on an ongoing basis, measure control performance, and recommend practical risk-reduction improvements
  • Meet with both technical and non-technical teams to gather information, investigate issues, and document findings clearly
  • Support assessment and audit preparation by organizing evidence, validating control implementation, and helping coordinate third-party reviews
  • Analyze vulnerabilities within the environment and help define segmentation or other mitigation strategies to reduce exposure
  • Maintain thorough documentation of compliance activities, risk evaluations, remediation efforts, and implemented controls
  • Track changes to applicable cybersecurity regulations, defense requirements, and industry best practices, and communicate relevant updates to internal teams
  • Deliver guidance and training to employees on compliance-related responsibilities, security procedures, and documentation expectations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, compliance, risk management, or a closely related function
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity compliance requirements, NIST SP 800-171, and broader security control frameworks
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, network architecture, and foundational security concepts
  • Experience using security and compliance tools such as vulnerability scanners, assessment platforms, or documentation systems
  • Strong writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear compliance records
  • Ability to manage tasks independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-moving environment
