Job Description:

Role Focus This is an on-site, learning-oriented seat. The intern will shadow and assist senior engineers and help desk staff while taking on hands-on tasks under supervision. The emphasis is on exposure to the day-to-day rhythm of an MSP — ticket flow, client communication, hardware lifecycle, and basic systems administration — so the intern leaves with a realistic understanding of the IT consulting business and a foundation of practical skills.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provisioning new end-user devices: imaging, joining to tenant, installing standard software stacks, and applying baseline configurations
  • Asset tagging, inventory updates, and preparing equipment for shipment or on-site deployment
  • Assisting with deployments: cable management, workstation setup, peripheral connection, and post-deployment validation
  • Tier 1 help desk support under the supervision of a senior engineer — password resets, basic Microsoft 365 issues, printer setup, and similar
  • Documentation: updating the PSA / knowledge base with notes from completed work
  • Shipping and receiving: packaging, tracking, and coordinating courier pickups for client hardware

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Computer Information Systems (CIS) program — or related IT, IS, MIS, or cybersecurity program — at a local college or university
  • Comfortable with Windows 10/11 at the user level
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft 365 a plus
  • Hands-on tinkering experience: built a PC, swapped components, set up a home network, run a home lab, etc. — formal experience is not required
  • Reliable transportation to the office
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Coachable and curious
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Comfortable on the phone and in person with end users
  • Careful and methodical when handling client hardware and data
What we offer:
  • Travel/commuting stipend to offset the cost of getting to and from the office
  • Top-performing interns will be considered for conversion to a paid part-time or full-time position
