As an IT Mentor, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of our apprentices, not by delivering traditional training, but by providing personalised, one-to-one mentoring that inspires confidence, develops real world skills, and supports growth. You’ll act as a trusted guide, using your industry experience to help learners navigate challenges, stay motivated, and achieve their goals within a fast moving digital landscape.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct regular one-to-one mentoring sessions (virtually or in person) with IT apprentices
Coach and support apprentices to overcome challenges, stay motivated, and achieve their learning and workplace goals
Monitor progress against key milestones, including portfolio development, project work, and preparation for End Point Assessment (EPA)
Provide constructive feedback on apprentices’ work and performance, helping them link theoretical knowledge to practical application
Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions, tracking progress and identifying any support needs or risks
Liaise with employers, trainers, and internal delivery teams to ensure a joined-up approach to learner development
Stay up to date with current IT trends and tools to ensure mentoring reflects current industry practice

Requirements:
Proven experience working in an IT mentoring role (in apprenticeship, college, university setting)
Strong knowledge mentoring learners on the L3 IT Solutions Technician, L3 ICT and L4 Network Engineer Standards
Passion for developing others through coaching, mentoring, or line management experience (formal teaching qualifications not required)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build trust and motivate learners
Empathetic, patient, and learner-focused approach
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
