Owl Cyber Defense is seeking a motivated IT Intern with a passion for technology, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in enterprise IT operations within a cybersecurity-focused organization. The IT Intern will actively contribute to meaningful IT projects while working closely with experienced team members and leadership. This role offers practical exposure to secure system administration, automation, and IT support in a compliance-driven environment.
Job Responsibility:
Support the IT team in maintaining hardware and software systems
Assist with troubleshooting technical issues and provide support to internal users
Assist in identifying and implementing automation opportunities within IT processes
Communicate with internal staff to report, escalate, and assist in resolving system-related issues under guidance from senior IT staff
Support Office 365 applications, including troubleshooting and user assistance
Assist with user account and group administration (Active Directory, Azure Active Directory)
Assist with user mailbox and email group creation and management within Office 365
Provide on-site and remote technical support for desktop computers and peripherals in a cross-platform office environment, working alongside senior IT staff
Participate in troubleshooting, repair, and installation of hardware, software, and desktop/laptop systems under supervision
Assist in setting up and configuring workstations for corporate and development environments, adhering to established security requirements
Collaborate with hardware and software vendors, alongside IT team members, to support problem analysis and resolution
Support IT compliance efforts in alignment with company and contract requirements
Contribute to maintaining adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulations within IT operations
Document processes and technical procedures as needed
Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Currently pursuing on BS/MS Degree in Information Technology, or related filed
Coursework or hands-on experience with Windows desktop installation, configuration, and administration
Exposure to OS installation, upgrade, integration, and maintenance through coursework, labs, or prior experience
Exposure to supporting remote users or distributed environments
Interest in or familiarity with Generative AI technologies
Foundational knowledge of Information Technology, Networking, and IT Security processes, including software deployment and scripting concepts
Familiarity with Office 365 platform
Understanding of core LAN/WAN networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switches, basic wiring concepts) and firewall fundamentals
Interest in process automation and continuous improvement
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced setting
Ability to write clear technical documentation
Candidates must be eligible to obtain a US Government Secret security clearance
