As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, managing, and optimising Service Stream’s hybrid infrastructure environment. This role requires strong technical leadership, stakeholder management, deep hands‑on expertise across cloud, on‑premise, and virtualised infrastructure, and the ability to drive major transformation initiatives. You’ll be responsible for ensuring reliability, security, automation, and performance across all infrastructure platforms while providing strategic direction, technical mentorship, and escalation support for complex issues.
Job Responsibility:
Design and oversee scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions across Windows Server, cloud platforms, and virtualisation technologies
Lead development of infrastructure roadmaps aligned with organisational strategy and technology evolution
Provide expert-level escalation support and guidance on complex infrastructure issues
Mentor and uplift engineering teams, fostering technical capability and best practices
Manage and optimise AWS and Azure environments, including hybrid cloud deployments and migration projects
Oversee administration of VMware, Hyper‑V, and related virtualisation environments
Champion infrastructure-as-code, automation, and orchestration using PowerShell, Python, Terraform, and related tooling
Drive adoption of DevOps practices and enhance CI/CD, automation, and operational efficiencies
Lead disaster recovery planning, testing, and ongoing development
Ensure security standards, compliance (ISO, AS/NZS), and robust vulnerability management practices are upheld
Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate solutions, influence decisions, and deliver outcomes
Ensure high-quality documentation, runbooks, and knowledge sharing across teams
Requirements:
Must be an Australian Citizen
Minimum 10+ years’ experience in infrastructure engineering, including hybrid cloud and migration projects
Strong background in Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022/2025)
Proven experience across AWS, Azure and Network related infrastructure services
Extensive experience in virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V)
Hands-on scripting and automation capability (PowerShell, Python, Terraform)
Experience using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and storage technologies (SAN/NAS)
Demonstrated experience leading infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and transformation projects
Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving capability, and communication skills
Be able to work as member as a team as well being able to work independently
Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Strong knowledge of ITSM principles, quality processes, and compliance standards
Nice to have:
Exposure to containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Certifications in relevant technologies: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator

Azure certifications
