Job Description:

Robert Half is seeking an IT Generalist / Construction Systems Consultant to support a construction organization based in Mukilteo, WA. This role involves assessing current paper-based and spreadsheet-driven workflows and leading the selection, implementation, and training of a project management and estimating system that supports scheduling, change orders, estimating, and project documentation. The position is remote, that is a contract opportunity with potential to extend based on project scope and system rollout.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assess current project tracking, estimating, scheduling, and documentation workflows
  • Identify inefficiencies related to paper-based processes, spreadsheets, and disconnected tools
  • Evaluate and narrow down project management and estimating software options to 1–2 best-fit solutions
  • Configure and implement the selected system for business use
  • Assist with initial setup and data entry for active projects
  • Train office staff and field managers on system usage and best practices
  • Ensure workflows support project photo organization, scheduling visibility, safety documentation, estimating, and change order tracking
  • Advise on optional system integrations and future digital improvement

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with construction project management and/or estimating systems
  • Experience supporting subcontractor or service-based construction companies
  • Ability to translate paper, spreadsheet, and whiteboard workflows into digital systems
  • Hands-on experience implementing and configuring construction software for small organizations
  • Ability to narrow a crowded software market into clear, practical recommendations
  • Experience training office staff and field managers on new systems
  • Familiarity with estimating, scheduling, change order processing, and project documentation workflows
  • Experience with tools such as PlanSwift, Sage, Bolt, Hover, Stack Estimating, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
  • Strong communication skills and a consultative approach
