The IT Financial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the financial operations of a complex, technology‑driven organization. This position serves as the primary financial partner to the IT department, managing budgets, analyzing spend, forecasting resource needs, and ensuring accurate reporting of both OPEX and CAPEX. This is a highly analytical role requiring strong communication skills and the ability to influence decision-making across IT, procurement, finance, engineering, and project management teams.
Job Responsibility:
Support IT financial planning by managing budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing monitoring of both operating (OPEX) and capital (CAPEX) expenditures
Work closely with IT leadership, finance, procurement, and project teams to analyze technology spend and ensure alignment with approved budgets and business priorities
Track and report financial activity related to software, hardware, cloud services, and other technology investments
Assist in managing software licensing costs, renewals, and vendor agreements to ensure accuracy, compliance, and cost effectiveness
Analyze financial performance across IT initiatives, preparing variance analysis, trend reporting, and recommendations for cost optimization
Prepare and deliver recurring financial reports and insights to IT and senior leadership
Support financial reviews, business cases, and tracking of project cost‑benefit outcomes
Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and management reports supporting IT operations and financial decision‑making
Participate in efforts to enhance financial processes, reporting accuracy, and resource utilization within the technology function
Assist with audit‑related requirements, compliance activities, and other financial governance needs
Contribute to cross‑functional initiatives and financial improvement projects as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a related field
3+ years of progressive financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or financial management experience—preferably within an IT, engineering, or technology‑focused environment
Strong understanding of IT budgeting, including OPEX/CAPEX, software licensing, vendor management, and project accounting
Advanced analytical skills and proficiency with Excel, forecasting models, and financial reporting tools
Familiarity with ERP systems, financial systems, and business intelligence/reporting platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
Nice to have:
Experience supporting developer resource planning, labor costing, or IT project spend analysis is a strong plus
