The IT Equipment Management Specialist plays an important role at American Food & Vending by maintaining the availability of Information Technology equipment. This Specialist will inventory, receive, order and evaluate computer, POS, network, and peripheral equipment. The IT Equipment Management Specialist will also contribute to the department’s reputation for customer service by doing other tasks as required, including, but not limited to, taking incoming calls, creating the appropriate ticket, and connecting the request to the right support technician in a professional manner that leaves the customers feeling well-heard and well taken care of. The IT environment is fast-paced and requires flexibility and tenacity to deal with ever-changing priorities. This position requires sound troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, good customer service skills and a sense of the importance of supporting our customers well. Also required is the ability to communicate information of a technical nature in a clear manner to non-technical users. This position requires a willingness to independently follow existing policies and procedures and to demonstrate initiative where appropriate.
Job Responsibility:
Receive and input all new hardware into the IT Service Management System
Receive, evaluate, and clean all hardware returned from the field
Ship and deploy all outgoing hardware
Administer the inventory of all IT assets such as laptops, desktops, printers etc. and maintain the asset management database in Service Now
Maintain the Product Catalog and create Purchase Orders to maintain proper inventory levels in Service Now
Weekly inventory of front and back stock and work on Par levels with department managers
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all processes
Record tickets and dispatch calls incoming on the technical support line
Build and maintain a strong network of relationships with vendors and internal employees
Communicate with vendors for repairs and track the repair of our assets
Closely track the return of all outstanding equipment from both closing sites and deactivated employees
Requirements:
Associate degree, preferably with 2+ years of relevant experience
Proficiency in Microsoft products
Ability to keep work environment organized
Ability to communicate instructions clearly and concisely over the phone
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to climb a ladder not higher than 6 feet
Ability to maintain and validate IT asset inventory accurately and efficiently on a weekly basis
Exceptional attention to detail
Motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Must have strong verbal and written communications skills
Required, High School
Preferred, Associates degree or higher
