Job Description:

Expert in one or more highly specialized areas within the healthcare environment. Role in developing clinical/business solutions. Design and present solutions and options that improve patient care, enhance patient engagement, improve operational efficiency and improve the organization's financial position. Integrates organizational knowledge with thoughtful design. Reviews and analyzes systems including testing and documenting Epic applications. Understands system options and configurations completely and can suggest and lead teams through decisions on the best way to configure and utilize the system.

Job Responsibility:

  • Designs, builds, tests, implements, and supports information technology solutions to meet operational and clinical needs
  • Provides consultation for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation
  • Understands system options and configurations completely and can suggest and lead teams through decisions on the best way to configure and utilize the system
  • Analyzes, designs, and makes recommendations to improve existing systems and/or methods, and provide written, detailed reports
  • Creates thorough system design and build documentation
  • Collaborates with other analysts, staff, vendors, and leadership
  • Translate high-level business requirements to detailed technical designs/documentation
  • Leads large/complex projects or initiatives
  • Supports/maintains day-to-day existing functionality/programs/applications including ancillary systems support
  • Coordinates all phases of a system optimization or upgrade project and provides production services, such as recommending improvements to strategy, system usage and process through the application of business and technology skill sets
  • Supports continued system maintenance and optimization
  • Serves as resource and advocate for assigned user group(s)
  • Assists with a variety of related projects and staff education on an ad hoc basis
  • Provide solutions for application issues and complex support for troubleshooting difficult situations
  • Acts as the group resources for complex issues needing resolution
  • Mentors other analysts on troubleshooting issues of intermediate to advanced complexity and creating system design solutions
  • Performs advanced system analysis and troubleshooting to implement new functionality/programs/applications, and to analyze/research vendor release notes and documentation

  • Identifies and manages new system specifications or user services and coordination of installations
  • Assesses assigned user areas for efficiencies and effectiveness

  • Coordinates the preparation of departmental and interdepartmental policies and procedures, job functions, operating procedures, manuals, and system documentation
  • Performs advanced analysis using databases and data reporting tools
  • Maintains complete and up-to-date project documentation for all assigned projects
  • Meeting with department heads on a routine basis to identify and prioritize their needs
  • Works closely with customers to document requirements and communicate effectively with customers and peers to implement changes
  • Facilitates performance improvement for the effective use of information technology
  • Assists in identifying any barriers to adoption of clinical practice
  • Supports business/clinical operations with clinical and financial end users
  • Analyze the functionality of the system and how it fits or not with operations
  • The ability to troubleshoot basic problems and recommend and take appropriate action as required
  • On-call coverage (after business hours and weekends) is sometimes required, on a rotational basis or as-needed, if circumstances warrant
  • Some travel required, both locally and overnight

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Other in related field or 4 years of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree, upon hire and 3 years working with systems analysis programming/design
  • and 5 years of additional relevant experience: application support, implementation
  • or Development experience with applications in a hospital or medical related industry
  • EPIC Certification, within 120 Days

  • Assists with conversion and operational support planning activities and tasks of multiple simultaneous projects. Manage training when applicable
  • Identifies how requirements and designs will affect multiple application areas (including Epic and all 3rd party applications) and recommends solutions for those areas to comply with strategic direction. Acts independently, fully understanding client business requirements, offers effective alternatives and works as an integration point to ensure multiple design teams are not in conflict
  • Competent to work at the highest technical level of most phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment. Perform and assist other team members in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance functions. Resource for assigned application(s). Support and troubleshoot as needed.   • Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs. Possess expertise in the clinical service lines business unit plus an understanding of the IT organization's systems and capabilities. Negotiate agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between clinical service lines, business units and IT from initial requirements to solutions
  • Serves as an experienced Information Technology advisor providing users a better understanding of Epic platform and other computer software capabilities and limitations. Evaluates vendor offerings, software enhancements/review for adherence to technical standards, facilitate development, implementation and maintenance tasks, and maintain the integrity of programs and data
  • Analyzes business and clinical service line operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions. Assist in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology. May make recommendations for buy vs. build decisions and do feasibility studies
  • Prepares project plans, which include definition, scope, resources and schedules
