Position/Department Summary: The Epic Analyst II – Grand Central/Prelude/Real Time Eligibility is responsible for the design, build, implementation, testing, and support of the Epic Grand Central, Prelude, and Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) modules. The analyst collaborates closely with operational leaders, end users, and IT peers to ensure system functionality aligns with clinical and administrative workflows and organizational objectives. This role serves as a key liaison between users and the Epic technical teams, ensuring a high level of customer service and effective resolution of system issues.
Job Responsibility
Provides day-to-day build, maintenance, and support for Epic Grand Central, Prelude, and RTE applications
Partners with clinical and administrative stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective Epic workflows and configurations
Designs, tests, and implements system changes, enhancements, and new functionality following BCH change management standards
Troubleshoots and resolves application and integration issues, escalating complex issues as needed
Participates in system upgrades, validation, and optimization initiatives to ensure continued system reliability and efficiency
Develops and maintains detailed system documentation, workflow diagrams, and support materials
Collaborates closely with the training team and operational leaders to ensure smooth adoption of new functionality
Participates in 24/7 on-call rotation and scheduled maintenance activities as required
Supports continuous improvement and standardization efforts across Epic modules and BCH departments
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
Minimum of 2 years of relevant Epic application support experience
Demonstrated understanding of patient registration, admission, discharge, transfer (ADT), and eligibility workflows
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams
Nice to have
Epic Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) certification
Additional Epic certifications or cross-certifications
Familiarity with Epic integration points, interface workflows, and downstream system impacts
Experience with project coordination or participation in Epic upgrade cycles
