The IT Sr Function Group Manager manages multiple teams of senior professionals through other senior managers, requiring a broad and comprehensive understanding of the different systems, theories, and practices relevant to a function alongside experience across multiple business cycles. The role demands strategic direction, excellent communication skills, and a solid grounding in strategic decision-making, combined with practical expertise in relevant business areas. Full management responsibility includes overseeing sizable resources, budgets, and planning activities.
Job Responsibility:
Ensures managed areas are defining and implementing systems that are aligned with business strategy and goals
Applies a broad and comprehensive understanding in multiple functional areas and their underlying business principles
Understands how own function integrates within the overall organization to contribute to achieving business objectives
Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations
Impacts the function by exercising control over sizable resources/budget, policy formulation and planning
Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions)
Communicates with external parties
Assesses risks when business decisions are made, driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations
Designs and implements the technology roadmap for Banca Comercial in Mexico
Ensures availability, scalability and resilience of systems supporting commercial operations
Coordinates development and implementation of technological solutions for origination, attention, risk management
Leads digital transformation of processes through APIs, cloud platforms, automation, and analytics
Ensures compliance with local regulations
Collaborates with business areas to deliver integrated solutions
Manages strategic technology providers and service contracts in Mexico
Promotes agile operating models focused on continuous value delivery
Participates in executive committees and technology prioritization meetings
Requirements:
15+ years of experience in multiple technology disciplines with extensive experience in business, functional and people management
Budget management, Risk & Control management, influencing skills
Managerial Experience
Licenciatura en Ingeniería en Sistemas, Tecnologías de la Información, Ciencias Computacionales o afín
Deseable Maestría o MBA
Mínimo 10 años de experiencia en tecnología bancaria, incluyendo al menos 5 años en liderazgo de soluciones para banca comercial
Sólido entendimiento del ecosistema financiero mexicano, productos comerciales y su regulación
Experiencia liderando proyectos tecnológicos con impacto en canales digitales, riesgo operativo, originación y sistemas core bancarios
Conocimiento técnico en arquitecturas cloud (Azure, AWS o GCP), APIs, microservicios, y marcos ágiles (Scrum, SAFe)
Habilidad de negociación con áreas de negocio, visión estratégica y liderazgo de equipos multidisciplinarios
