Job Description:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide high‑quality operational support for a wide range of Group software applications used across the business, acting as the final line of internal support for line‑of‑business systems. Day to day, the role involves reviewing, replicating, and performing detailed troubleshooting of application issues to deliver timely and effective resolutions. In addition to BAU support, the role contributes to group‑wide IT initiatives, including system maintenance activities, upgrades, new features, and new implementations, as well as system and database administration. The IT Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the successful technical delivery of these activities, working across the full application lifecycle from requirements gathering and solution selection, through supplier engagement, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. While maintaining system stability remains the priority, the role also encourages a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement, enhancements, and integrations using existing and emerging technologies that add value to the firm.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide day‑to‑day (BAU) operational support for business applications, ensuring systems remain stable, secure, and fit for purpose
  • Monitor, maintain, and support applications through effective configuration management and routine maintenance activities
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application incidents and issues, working with internal IT teams and third‑party vendors as required
  • Manage and support application changes, including configuration updates, fixes, and minor enhancements, in line with change control processes
  • Engage with business users to understand operational issues and system usage, providing practical solutions and guidance
  • Support testing activities related to system changes, fixes, and maintenance work, including coordination of user acceptance testing where required
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date system documentation, including configurations, processes, and support procedures
  • Support data quality, reporting accuracy, and day‑to‑day operation of system integrations

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting and maintaining business applications in an operational or BAU environment
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and identify root causes
  • Experience working with incident, problem, and change processes in an IT support or operations context
  • Ability to engage confidently with business users to understand issues and explain technical concepts clearly
  • Experience working with third‑party vendors to support and maintain applications
  • Strong documentation skills, with experience producing and maintaining system and support documentation
  • Good understanding of the importance of system stability, data integrity, and controlled change

Nice to have:

  • Experience with enterprise or SaaS applications
  • Understanding of system integrations and data flows
  • Exposure to IT service management frameworks or service desk environments
  • Experience supporting applications in a regulated or professional services environment
