We are seeking a TSSC Budget Controller to support the Vodafone portfolio in tracking, controlling, and optimising budgets across a complex delivery environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate forecasting, compliant cost treatment, robust financial reporting, and effective stakeholder partnership across Finance, Procurement, and delivery teams. The individual will manage significant programme budgets, contribute to planning activities, and provide clear insight into risks and opportunities.
Job Responsibility:
Work closely with LPM and portfolio budget owners to capture the latest full-year outlook in the budget tracker, ensuring alignment with approved plans, realistic spend forecasts, and correct cost treatment in line with accounting rules
Control portfolio budgets in line with governance approvals, proactively communicating spend risks and opportunities to Finance through regular daily and weekly interactions
Perform project accounting activities including monthly forecasting, commitment receipting, month-end reconciliation, SAP budget set-up, budget tracker management, and variance analysis
Ensure the budget tracker is fully aligned with SAP Finance ledger actuals, commitments, and the latest portfolio spend outlook
Partner with Finance, Vodafone Procurement, Vendor Management, and senior stakeholders to ensure effective and transparent portfolio budget control
Manage and consolidate regular and ad-hoc financial reporting for Finance, LPM, PMO, and delivery stakeholders
Run regular portfolio review calls, acting as a trusted advisor on budget-related activities and decisions
Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, and automate cost planning activities and ways of working
Requirements:
Experienced in managing programme-level Capex budgets using a bottom-up approach
Confident user of SAP Finance & Accounting systems with a strong understanding of financial controls
Knowledgeable in cost treatment and accounting rules, with the ability to apply them consistently
Comfortable working in complex, matrix organisations with virtual, cross-functional teams
A strong relationship builder, able to engage effectively with Finance, IT Delivery, PMO, and senior stakeholders
Experienced in IT Delivery, Business Transformation, and PMO environments
Educated to degree level in business economics, financial management, information management, or a related field
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Background in telecoms or a similarly fast-paced industry
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Agile, PMI, P3O, or PRINCE II methodologies
Finance certifications (CIMA/ACCA)
Business intelligence tools
Process improvement approaches (such as Lean Six Sigma)
