The role is responsible to drive cost optimisation, and value realisation across cloud and IT infrastructure spending. Bridge engineering, product, and finance teams, ensuring that technology investments are aligned with business objectives and managed efficiently through data-driven financial operations.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and maintain the financial operations governance model, policies, and cost control standards
Ensure compliance with financial, budgetary, and procurement policies for cloud and infrastructure spending
Drive adoption and consistency of these practices across teams
Collaborate with engineering, product, procurement, and finance to deliver cost optimisation initiatives
Communicate spending trends, risks, and optimisation opportunities via reports and dashboards
Monitor cloud usage and cost data to identify waste, anomalies, and rightsizing opportunities
Lead optimisation actions such as sizing, scheduling, lifecycle management, and architecture improvements
Develop financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and implement chargeback for transparency
Track IT charges, variances, and provide early warnings
support budgeting with accurate forecasts
Challenge spending requests and manage cost commitments, contracts, and reservations to avoid overruns
Requirements:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance or other related field
Proven experience in financial analysis, IT budgeting, and cross-functional environments involving IT, engineering, finance, and procurement
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) and consumption-based pricing models
Solid experience in analysing large datasets (usage, invoices, cost reports) to derive actionable insights
Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling techniques
Ability to challenge cost drivers and recommend optimised alternatives
Experience collaborating with procurement, finance, and vendor management teams
Strong governance mindset with attention to detail and compliance
Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts into business language
Proactive problem-solving and prioritisation skills to drive initiatives to completion
Excellent written and verbal communications skills in Greek & English
