Responsible for answering phone calls and taking orders for room service in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner. This role requires strong communication skills, a focus on customer service, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The Order Taker plays a vital role in ensuring guests receive an exceptional in-room dining experience.
Job Responsibility:
Answer phone calls or in-room dining orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Take note of any special requests, preferences, or dietary restrictions, and communicate this information clearly to the kitchen and delivery staff
Maintain a thorough understanding of the room service menu, including available food and drink options, daily specials, and preparation times
Enter orders accurately into the order management system and confirm all details with guests before submitting to the kitchen or relevant department
Relay orders to the kitchen promptly and ensure delivery staff are informed of any specific delivery instructions or requests
Address special requests from guests, such as customizing orders, adjusting for allergies, or accommodating unique preferences
Track the progress of orders to ensure timely delivery and follow up with kitchen or delivery personnel if there are any issues or delays
Ensure all room service orders are correctly charged to guest accounts, processing payments and issuing receipts as necessary
Be engaging and actively contributing to the service whenever needed
Requirements:
Relevant experience in In-Room Dining, Guest Experience, or a Call Center environment is essential
Experience in a luxury hotel or similar high-end hospitality setting is preferred
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and work effectively in an office or call center setting
Ability to stay highly organized and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Familiarity with Micros or similar POS systems is required
