Our Industrial Relations (IR) Compliance Specialist is responsible for executing the established Industrial Relations strategy within a fast-paced, multi-site fast food environment. This role focuses on improving existing processes and practices, improving and verifying supporting technologies, and using risk methodology to ensure compliance and mitigate IR-related risks.
Job Responsibility:
Review and strengthen IR programmes and governance frameworks to enhance effectiveness and ensure compliance
Partner with Payroll and Time & Attendance providers to validate system rules, support compliance, and optimise IR-related technology platforms
Support delivery of the IR governance framework, including audits, risk assessments, investigations, corrective action tracking and continuous improvement initiatives
Use data and analytics to monitor IR trends and implement targeted, proactive interventions
Identify and escalate high-risk matters, recommending appropriate mitigation strategies
Work collaboratively with Operations leaders, franchisees and HR stakeholders to build IR capability through coaching, education and practical resources
Support Learning & Development and People & Culture Business Partners to identify and deliver initiatives that promote a positive employee relations environment
Requirements:
Proven experience driving continuous improvement across time & attendance systems/controls, operational best practice and IR risk management initiatives
Strong partnering capability across Payroll, Operations, HR teams, including collaboration with time & attendance vendors
IR experience partnering with leaders within unionised, multi-site environments
Deep knowledge of Australian employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and enterprise agreements
Experience designing and/or operating IR governance (risk assessment, controls, audits and corrective action tracking)
Experience supporting detailed entitlement analysis and auditing, highly regarded
Strong analytical skills with confidence leveraging data and insights to identify trends and prioritise action
Sound understanding of business and operational drivers
Tertiary qualifications in IR (or related discipline) or equivalent experience
Sound judgement, resilience and ability to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities
