A Tier 1 intellectual property firm, renowned for its high-quality service in the areas of patents, trademarks, design, and related commercial law is seeking an experienced solicitor to join the firm’s highly respected and growing commercial IP team. You will be at the forefront of exciting, complex cases and transactions, advising high-profile clients across industries such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and technology.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and manage complex IP litigation cases, including patent and trademark disputes across the UK, Europe, and internationally
  • Provide expert guidance on technology transfer agreements, IP due diligence, and strategic patent portfolio management
  • Advise on the intersection of IP law with corporate transactions, including M&A, and handle due diligence processes
  • Mentor and lead junior associates and trainees, fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking team culture
  • Build and nurture client relationships, with a focus on growing the firm’s client base across key sectors, particularly life sciences, pharmaceuticals, and technology.

Requirements

  • Contentious and/or non-contentious IP experience, managing patent, trademark and copyright disputes and/or commercial IP transactions
  • 3+ years PQE in a well respected IP team
  • Leadership and mentoring experience, with the ability to guide and develop junior lawyers
  • A proactive approach to business development and an entrepreneurial mindset, with a strong network and ability to bring in new business
  • STEM background e.g. Physics, Electrical, Chemistry etc.
