We are seeking an IoT Automotive Network Engineer (2nd Line) to support, develop and optimise complex IT and network solutions used by enterprise automotive customers on Vodafone’s Global Internet of Things platform. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance and continuous improvement of customer-facing systems, while providing advanced technical support, automation and operational excellence within a fast-paced, multinational environment.
Job Responsibility:
Develop, test, implement and maintain scripts and software solutions used by Vodafone IoT enterprise customers
Ensure the stability, availability and optimal performance of software, network and tooling systems
Provide advanced 2nd Line technical support for network applications and systems, including on-call support outside standard business hours
Analyse incidents and complex technical issues, perform impact assessments and implement sustainable technical solutions
Modify and adapt software and hardware solutions to improve performance and customer experience
Review technical and functional specifications and translate them into effective system implementations
Support the transition of solutions from development to operational environments through validation, testing and implementation
Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures and work instructions for supported platforms
Identify automation opportunities and develop scripts to optimise operational processes
Work in line with operational agreements and service performance indicators such as response time, resolution speed and error rates
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of telecom architectures, including GSM, UMTS, LTE and NB-IoT
Confident working with protocols such as GTP, RADIUS, Diameter, IP, BGP, MP-BGP, MPLS, L3-VPN and IPSEC
Experienced in Linux/UNIX environments and open-source operating systems
Comfortable programming or scripting using languages such as Python, Perl or Bash
Skilled in packet capture and analysis tools (for example, Wireshark, tcpdump)
Familiar with monitoring and service management tools such as BMC Remedy, Netscout, Grafana and Cacti
Knowledgeable in ITIL methodology and structured incident and change management
Customer-focused, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to see issues through to resolution
Able to collaborate effectively with diverse technical teams and stakeholders in a multinational environment
Proficient in English at B2–C1 level, with clear communication and documentation skills

Advanced troubleshooting and incident management across complex IoT and telecom ecosystems
Automation and scripting to improve system reliability and operational efficiency
End-to-end lifecycle management of network and software solutions in production environments
