The key role purpose is to establish and deepen relationships with Japanese institutional investors to increase the number of institutional investors at new and established events across Australia, Asia, EMEA, and the US. The role reports into the Head of Investor Engagement - APAC for core activities and will work closely with the Director of Japan on research and product development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Invite and confirm Japanese Institutional Investors (LPs) to global event portfolios
  • Conduct 50 outbound engagements a day (calls, emails, & LinkedIn)
  • Onboard new institutional investors to our network hub & directory
  • Build rapport & encourage engagement with Japanese institutional investors through in-person meetings
  • Work with conference producers to confirm senior-level investors as speakers for event programs
  • Complete demos via screen share or in-person of the Investor Network platform
  • Help investors complete profiles and understand their needs to drive networking and knowledge-gathering opportunities
  • Gather feedback on the value of the membership and on how we can improve our network experience
  • Deliver against daily/weekly/monthly targets relating to outreach volumes, duration, and sales targets
  • Deliver against KPI metrics of the number of demonstrations held of the subscription platform
  • Assimilate key selling points during event briefing sessions and communicate these succinctly and compellingly to relevant prospects
  • Work closely with internal production teams to provide detailed feedback about prospects, pipelines, and progress on each event
  • Work closely with the R&A team, providing updated information of investor appetite/activities where possible
  • Assist the marketing team with translation on an ad hoc basis
  • Responsible for following & executing the sales strategy across multiple products
  • Maintain up-to-date CRM records to ensure daily activities, contacts with prospective customers, and pipeline are fully recorded
  • Keep colleagues informed of your activities through formal reporting procedures with your Sales Leader based in London
  • Adhere to best practice sales methodology and maintain an openness to training & development

Requirements:

  • Working proficiency in Japanese & English
  • Experience and performance in customer service or client engagement (particularly with Investors)
  • Experience communicating with C-suite decision-makers of large multinational businesses
  • Knowledge of industry events, private markets, fund managers, and the LP-GP capital raising dynamic is preferred
  • Strong understanding and focus on the right KPI measures – both financial and non-financial
  • A love of networking and relationship building and curiosity to learn about people and markets and the ability to tailor solutions to client needs
