Job Description

We are in the search for an Investment Trading Analyst to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The role primarily involves supporting the acquisition of various forms of investments, assisting in trading desk operations, and interacting with multiple business units within the financial services industry.

Job Responsibility

  • Accurately maintain data used in investment trading decisions, ensuring its availability from the initiation to the settlement of trades
  • Conduct portfolio analysis using data analysis tools, Microsoft Excel, MySQL, and SQL
  • Engage directly with trade partners to resolve data-related inquiries
  • Oversee portfolio reporting infrastructure and ensure its accuracy and efficiency
  • Establish yourself as the go-to expert for all reporting and data analysis related to portfolio acquisitions
  • Assist in research projects as per the requests of portfolio managers
  • Monitor the outcomes of investment strategies and make necessary adjustments
  • Collaborate with technology/data teams to ensure the accuracy of information and analysis
  • Regularly analyze portfolio return/risk
  • Handle all processes related to trade commencement to settlement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or mathematics (a minor in data science or computer science ideal)
  • 1+ Years relevant work experience in Financial Services
  • Strong multitasking and prioritizing skills
  • Excellent communicative abilities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • High analytical skills
  • Intermediate to advance Microsoft Excel skills and understanding of Data Base management tools
  • A proactive attitude to developing new ideas and refining existing processes
  • Possess a minimum of one year of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in an investment or trading analyst role
  • Be proficient in data analysis and data analytics to interpret complex financial information
  • Have hands-on experience with data analysis tools, enhancing the ability to make informed decisions
  • Demonstrate proficiency in MySQL and SQL, facilitating efficient data management and analysis
  • Display advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other advanced functions
  • Be able to interpret and analyze financial data and present it in a clear, concise manner
  • Show a strong understanding of investment strategies and trading mechanisms
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and present findings to stakeholders
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Display a strong understanding of market trends and the ability to forecast financial outcomes
  • Show a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work

  • Show a strong understanding of risk management and compliance regulations in the financial industry
