Heights Capital Management Asia (HCM), a dynamic investment team within Susquehanna seeks an Investment Executive to join our Tokyo office. Job Responsibility:

  • Proactively leverage and expand professional network to support the sourcing of deals, facilitating key introductions, and gathering market intelligence
  • Monitor capital market activity regionally, but with a particular focus on Japan
  • Screen for and maintain a pipeline of potential investment candidates
  • Design and deliver marketing and educational materials to senior executives
  • Build trustful relationships with important counterparties including company executives, bankers, and advisors
  • Evaluate potential investments via analysis of business and market factors
  • Assist the team on negotiation and execution, reviewing commercial language in deal documentation with the support of external and internal counsel
  • Guide all parties through Third Party Allotment processes, ensuring professional standards in transaction announcements
  • Monitor post-investment developments to provide support to portfolio companies and inform position management
  • Effectively manage resources, prioritizing high-impact activities and delegating appropriately externally and internally. Focus on judgment and decision-making that drives and protects key business outcomes

Requirements:

  • Bilingual Japanese and English
  • 7+ years of experience in investment banking, hedge funds, or related roles
  • Bloomberg, Excel, and PowerPoint capabilities
  • Ability to carefully read and interpret financial statements and legal documents
  • Competence in data analysis
  • Proven track record in advising on deal sourcing, negotiation, and execution while building a strong brand

Nice to have:

  • Direct experience with private placements, equity/equity-linked securities would be useful
  • Experience in, but at least a demonstrated interest in technology, biotech, and/or another high-growth industry, is preferred
