Job Description:

You will be a senior team member responsible for daily Investment Operations with focus on listed assets including Corporate Bonds, Munis, Structured Securities, and Agency MBS. You will have a strong understanding of the lifecycle of an investment and will bring subject matter expertise to support the ongoing operations and expansion of AIM’s listed portfolio and own designated processes. This includes overseeing trade processing, reconciling, and analyzing portfolio and Security Master data, and investment and accounting reporting. You will work with other teams, those within the organization (accounting, treasury, policy, risk, portfolio management), and those externally (asset managers, custodians, trustees) to ensure that investment operations are performed accurately and in a timely manner. Further you will mentor less experienced staff on industry best practices, guide important projects to implement straight through processing, and further improve repetitive investment value chain processes to deliver superior value to AIM’s clients. You will report into the AIM AVP – Investment Operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Facilitate the timely and accurate booking of trades and resulting positions
  • Monitor cash balances and ensure that all cash transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Reconcile portfolio data against custodian and asset manager statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Work with internal investment managers and external asset managers to ensure that investment strategies are booked timely and accurately
  • Produce reports to provide insight into accounting, compliance and risk management, and operational efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce risk
  • Monitor and ensure sound investment operational controls both internally and with external asset managers over core processes including trade settlement, cash, and related reconciliations
  • Building strong relationships internally and with asset managers

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in investment operations dealing with Corporate Bonds, Agency MBS, Structured Securities
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Good understanding of investment management processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must have basic to high proficiency with AI and/or business intelligence
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require immigration sponsorship for visa status now or in the future
